Clay is not a material that wears out it improves. But only when it is cared for correctly. The Klayvi Complete Care system covers every touchpoint of your clay’s life: the daily clean, the monthly season, the annual revival. Three formulas. One philosophy. No standard dish soap. Ever.

01. DAILY CLEANING

After every use, rinse with warm water and 2–3 pumps of the appropriate Klayvi Wash formula. Standard dish soap operates at pH 9–11. That alkalinity saponifies the polymerised flaxseed oil seasoning layer stripping it completely within a few washes. Klayvi Wash is formulated at pH 6–8. It lifts food residue without touching the non-stick surface beneath.

02. MONTHLY SEASONING

Once a month, apply 4–5 drops of cold-pressed flaxseed oil to your cooking vessels. Heat on a medium-low flame until the oil just begins to smoke at the edges approximately four minutes. Cool completely. Wipe clean. This re-polymerisation cycle rebuilds the crosslinked oil layer that is the source of clay's non-stick properties. It takes five minutes. It is the single most important thing you can do.

03. ANNUAL DEEP CARE

Once a year ideally at the start of a season clean all pieces with the Klayvi Natural Clean Kit (sisal scrubber, Himalayan rock salt, coconut shell powder). Sun-dry for four to six hours. Re-season all cooking pieces. Check for hairline surface marks. Store seasonal pieces such as diyas in their cotton muslin pouches.

04. RE-SEASONING RESCUE

If your clay has been washed with standard dish soap, the seasoning has been stripped through saponification. Recover it: cook one session of oil-based sabzi. Clean with the Natural Clean Kit only. Apply the monthly flaxseed oil protocol three times across three consecutive cooking sessions. By the fourth session, the surface is restored. By the tenth, it is better than before.

05. PROPER STORAGE

Every Klayvi piece ships in a cotton muslin pouch for good reason. Breathable cotton allows the clay to exchange moisture with ambient air during storage, preventing the condensation that sealed plastic traps. Store clay vessels in their pouches, in a dry ventilated space. Never in plastic bags. Never damp.

Three dedicated formulas Cookware (Terracotta), Drinkware (Ocean Blue), Decor (Sage Green) each calibrated to the specific soil type and pH requirement of their category. SLS-free. SLES-free. Washed with
DISH SOAP?

It happens. Standard dish soap strips the seasoning layer through alkaline saponification the same chemical reaction used to make soap from fat. The good news: it is fully recoverable. Three re-seasoning cycles and your surface is restored. Follow the rescue protocol in your Clay Care Passport or contact us at contact@klayvi.com.

Our FAQ

Ordering

Orders can be cancelled within 2 hours of placement, provided they have not yet been dispatched to our artisan partner. As Klayvi operates on a zero-inventory, made-to-order model, production begins promptly after confirmation. To request a cancellation, email contact@klayvi.com immediately with your order number.

We are reachable at contact@klayvi.com or via WhatsApp on the number listed on your order confirmation, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM IST. For clay care queries specifically, our Clay Concierge team responds within 6 hours for Premium Tier customers and within 24 hours for all others.

Shipping

We currently ship across India via Shiprocket and Blue Dart. International shipping to the UAE, United Kingdom, and USA is available for select SKUs delivery timelines and applicable customs duties are detailed at checkout. Export orders are fulfilled via our international logistics partner with full tracking provided.

Standard SKUs are dispatched within 5–7 working days from order confirmation, as each piece is made to order by our artisan partners. Premium Tier and ICP-OES certified pieces require 7–10 working days. Large planters, the 5L Handi, and the 3L Slow Cooker require 10–14 working days. Exact dispatch timelines are shown on each product page before checkout.

Returns and Refunds

We accept returns within 7 days of delivery for products that arrive damaged or defective. Photograph the damaged piece and its outer packaging immediately on receipt and email contact@klayvi.com with your order number. We will arrange a courier pickup and process the replacement. As all Klayvi pieces are handmade to order, we do not accept returns for change of mind.

For eligible returns, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days of us receiving the returned piece and confirming its condition. Replacement pieces for transit-damaged orders are dispatched within 5–7 working days of the return being confirmed. You will receive email and WhatsApp updates at every stage.
