The full-day carry. Cool water from morning until evening.
Our most versatile water bottle. 750ml — large enough for a half-day without refilling, compact enough to fit a standard bag pocket. Available in classic terracotta sienna or the premium Bone Kaolin colourway (natural off-white, finer clay grain, refined visual aesthetic). Both have the same Aqua-Lock interior and evaporative cooling. XRF-certified. Both develop character with
Key Features & Benefits
- The Bone Kaolin Colourway: Bone Kaolin is naturally white with a fine grain structure. The fired result is a pale cream-to-ivory exterior that is visually quieter than standard terracotta but still unmistakably clay. Same porosity. Same cooling. Different mineral composition on the exterior.
- Develops Character With Use: Unlike plastic, clay water bottles improve with use. The exterior surface darkens at the points most often touched — the handle area, around the stopper, the base. This is not dirt; it is the clay surface absorbing natural oils from your skin over time. At 6 months, it looks intentional. At 2 years, it looks like an heirloom.
- Zero Microplastics: Aqua-Lock interior. Clay exterior. No polymer of any kind.
- 3–6°C Natural Cooling: Same evaporative mechanism as the 500ml.
- XRF Certified: Batch QR on base.
- Cork Stopper: Natural, antimicrobial, tight seal.
About the Material
The Bone Kaolin colourway option for the 750ml emerged from consistent customer feedback that some workplaces and aesthetic preferences did not suit standard terracotta orange. Bone Kaolin clay is naturally white with a fine grain structure — the fired result is a pale cream exterior that reads as more contemporary while being entirely natural. Same clay quality, same testing protocol, same Aqua-Lock interior. The exterior mineral composition differs — higher Bone Kaolin percentage, less laterite iron oxide — which is why it fires to white rather than sienna. Both variants are XRF-tested and the results are compared against the same FSSAI limits.
The Science
The 750ml size occupies the hydration science sweet spot. Research on optimal hydration shows that people drink more water from carry vessels they find aesthetically satisfying and comfortable to use. A clay bottle that develops a personal patina, that is pleasant to hold (not cold like steel, not slippery like plastic), and that produces genuinely cooler water than ambient temperature — this is a vessel that gets used. Usage is the health variable, not the vessel material alone.

Caring for Your Klayvi
| 1 — First Use | Rinse with plain water. Cook something water-based for first 2–3 uses. |
| 2 — Daily Clean | Klayvi Wash Care (pH 6–8) or sisal scrubber with warm water. Never standard dish soap — its pH 9–11 strips the seasoning polymer layer. |
| 3 — After Wash | Dry on low flame for 2 minutes. Never store damp. |
| 4 — Monthly | Apply 4–5 drops of cold-pressed flaxseed oil. Heat on medium-low until just smoking at edges (~4 min). Cool and wipe. |
| 5 — Never | Dishwasher · Microwave · Overnight soaking · Chemical detergents · Cold water on a hot vessel |

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the Bone Kaolin bottle cool water as well as the terracotta?
Yes — the cooling mechanism is porosity-dependent, not colour-dependent. The Bone Kaolin exterior has the same porosity structure as standard terracotta at the pore level, just different mineral composition. Cooling differential is essentially identical: 3–6°C below ambient in dry heat.
Q: How does the Bone Kaolin patina differently than the terracotta?
Bone Kaolin develops a slightly warmer, creamier tone as the skin-oil patina builds. Terracotta darkens toward a deeper ochre. Both look more interesting at 1 year than at purchase. The Bone Kaolin patina tends to be more even and subtle; the terracotta patina is more visible and dramatic.
Q: I use this for infused water. Are there any concerns?
No concerns. The Aqua-Lock interior seals the clay from the infusion. Mint, cucumber, lemon, ginger — all safe for extended infusion in the 750ml bottle. Rinse the interior thoroughly after citrus infusions to prevent the acid from sitting on the Aqua-Lock glaze for extended periods, though this is a precaution rather than a strict requirement.
Q: Can I put the bottle through a carry strap on a backpack?
The included cotton carry strap can loop through a backpack strap attachment point. The 750ml bottle is 24–26cm tall and 6–7cm diameter — it fits most water bottle pockets. The cork stopper is firm enough to stay in place during movement.
Q: The bottle is making a slight gurgling sound. Is that normal?
Yes. When you tip the bottle to drink, air enters through the clay body to replace the water you have removed — producing a faint gurgling sound. This is normal and indicates that the clay is breathing correctly. If the gurgling is very loud or the water flows irregularly, the exterior may be sealed with scale or mineral deposit — clean with diluted lemon juice.
Q: Is the Bone Kaolin colourway more expensive?
Both colourways are priced identically. The Bone Kaolin uses a slightly more refined clay source, but the processing cost is the same.
